Turkey has unveiled its new cruise missile called Super Lightning, which can be launched from fighter jets and drones.
The missile will be able to carry out air-to-ground and air-to-air attack missions, as well as detect and suppress enemy systems on the ground by targeting sensitive systems such as surveillance radars and electronic warfare systems.
Unlike the Turkish SOM-SOM-J missiles which have a range of 280 km, The Super Lightning cruise missile is designed to strike distant targets as it has a range of more than 700 km.
The Super Lightning represents the latest version of the high-speed target aircraft system developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
