Russia’s defence industry has unveiled the new BTR-22 8×8 armoured personnel carrier (APC), set to replace the ageing BTR-82A model.
This next-generation vehicle has been designed to meet the evolving demands of modern warfare, offering enhanced protection, flexibility, and advanced electronic warfare capabilities.
The BTR-22 is specifically designed to transport mechanised infantry troops to the battlefield while providing fire support.
Moreover, the BTR-22 is equipped to transport military cargo and tow trailers, offering comprehensive protection for the combat crew and equipment inside and shielding them from small arms fire, mine and shell fragments as well as harsh battle conditions.
