Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, received today New Zealand Defence Minister Peeni Henare and his accompanying delegation.
Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, and a number of senior military officers, were also present.
Al Bowardi welcomed the visit of the New Zealand minister of Defence and those accompanying him.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in the best interest of the two friendly peoples and countries.
Al Bowardi said that the UAE and New Zealand have distinguished historic and stable relations, based on understanding, mutual respect and a joint desire to develop and advance these ties.
The two sides emphasised the importance of continuing joint efforts to explore more cooperation opportunities of priorities, work to open up new fields to boost the two countries’ potential in the fields of joint interest and those related to technology, industry, space, and military industries.
The parties also reviewed cooperation between the UAE and New Zealand in issues related to military and defence affairs for the benefit of the two friendly countries. They also tackled a number of issues of mutual concern.
