The Chinese government has released a comprehensive national guide for establishing industry standards in artificial intelligence (AI) for 2024. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of the AI industry within the country.
This step is part of China’s ongoing efforts to solidify its leadership in AI and advance its high-tech industries.
The guide was issued by several key government bodies, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Central Information Office, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the National Standards Committee.
The guide highlights the rapid development of the AI industry in areas such as technical innovation, sectoral applications, and international cooperation. It aims to establish at least 50 new national and industrial standards by 2026 while focusing on enhancing the interaction between standards and technological innovation in the industrial sector.
The guide encourages the participation of over 1,000 companies in implementing and promoting these standards. Additionally, it aims to contribute to the establishment of more than 20 international standards to support the global development of the AI industry.
