As global strategic dynamics evolve and national security demands grow, industrial transformation in the defence sector has become a pressing priority for researchers and decision-makers alike.
This shift is characterised by the integration of cutting-edge research with advanced manufacturing processes, paving the way for an industrial model capable of addressing modern challenges with efficiency and precision.
Amid the increasing demand for technological innovation and localised defence production, Texelis’ Celeris system emerges as a game-changer in armoured vehicle manufacturing. Building on expertise gained from developing the French Army’s Serval 4×4, Celeris provides clients with an efficient, rapid solution for local armoured vehicle production.
A Comprehensive Approach to Vehicle Production
Celeris is a fully integrated solution covering every stage of armoured vehicle development—from initial design and prototyping to testing, production, and long-term maintenance. With a 40-year support programme, it ensures continuous operational readiness across diverse environments and conditions.
The system caters to a broad spectrum of armoured vehicle configurations, including 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 platforms. This flexibility makes Celeris highly adaptable to varying defence and security needs. By leveraging pre-assembled production kits, which include essential components like engines, transmissions, and axles, alongside customisation options tailored to specific military requirements, Texelis streamlines the complex process of armoured vehicle development into a seamless and efficient operation.
Furthermore, this strategic partnership grants clients full control over vehicle design, development, and marketing. This enhances industrial sovereignty while facilitating technology transfer and knowledge-sharing within local defence industries.
Thus, Celeris marks a significant leap in the armoured vehicle industry, combining technological innovation, industrial integration, and long-term technical support. This enables nations and defence organisations to achieve industrial independence and develop advanced solutions that meet the demands of the modern era.
A Paradigm Shift in Military Manufacturing
Most commercial manufacturers typically just sell a truck chassis (which is not meant for military needs) and do not assist with adaptation, qualification or certification. They neither assist with maintenance nor guarantee part availability or obsolescence management throughout the vehicle’s lifespan. Thus, vehicle design, development and management can become a technical nightmare.
Celeris takes the opposite approach, resolving all mobility-related challenges for manufacturers while guaranteeing performance, and ensuring a smooth development process. Involved at every step, Texelis guarantees that performance is there when the vehicle starts.
With Celeris, mobility, often the most difficult part of a vehicle, is now the easiest. With Celeris, any company with some experience in the vehicle business, or currently producing armoured hulls, can start or improve its range of vehicles.
Industrial Sovereignty and Strategic Partnerships
Texelis guarantees that the vehicle is fully their partners’, with full control over the specifications and support system, as well as a full capability to market and even export the vehicle. At the end of the process, Texelis is just a supplier of a very comprehensive package which includes hardware, software, support, as well as advisory services and transfer of technologies. It is thus extremely relevant for countries willing to launch their own, locally-produced, sovereign vehicles, with their specifications, their industry, their jobs and their potential markets.
Modular Kit-Based Production
Celeris operates on a modular production model, delivering pre-configured kits divided into two categories: base kits including engine, gearbox, axles and option kits to help fully customise the vehicle such as left-or-right drive, and wheels.
Additionally, Celeris offers industrial kits, which accelerate the development and prototyping phase, including cables, pipes, and tools.
This kit-centric production is a native procedure. Under the Serval program, Texelis produces kits with production instructions and ships them to its partner KNDS France, which conducts the vehicle integration with its armoured hull and systems.
They are also produced for Texelis’ partners, currently in Indonesia and Canada, proving that this system can be easily duplicated with any other partner in any country with a similar production logic.
From Design to Deployment in Just One Year
One of Celeris’s most remarkable attributes is its unparalleled speed in vehicle production. For instance, Indonesian defence firm PT SSE developed its “P2 Tiger” armoured vehicle using Celeris in just one year—from contract signing to first presentation.
In Canada, INKAS is developing a mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle using Celeris, showcasing the system’s versatility in supporting high-performance defence vehicle manufacturing.
Future Prospects and Innovation
Texelis continues to refine and expand Celeris, with upcoming enhancements, including hybrid-powered variants, optimised designs for extreme climate conditions and access to next-generation defence technologies, ensuring that its vehicles remain ready to meet evolving defence and security requirements.
With Celeris, Texelis is accelerating and streamlining the local production of armoured vehicles, offering a comprehensive solution that guarantees performance and reliability for decades.
