PRESIDENT VISITS ADIHEX 2024 Unprecedented global participation

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, the 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2024 took place from 31 August to 8 September 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), marking the largest edition in the exhibition’s history.

 

In a press conference, H.E. Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Co-founder and chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club; Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC; and Saad Al Hassani, Director of ADIHEX announced key details regarding the preparations for the exhibition.

According to the announcement, the number of participating countries increased fourfold, reaching 65 nations in the 2024 edition, compared to only 14 in its inaugural edition.

Moreover, the exhibition saw a record-breaking turnout of international visitors, alongside over 600 journalists and media personnel covering the event and its activities.  

 

Under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the exhibition introduced the official ADIHEX falcon insignia for falcons purchased at the exhibition and through its accompanying auctions. Falcons bought at ADIHEX are now eligible to compete in newly introduced categories of the prestigious President’s Cup Championship, set to take place in the 2024-2025 season.

This initiative highlights the UAE’s commitment to developing this vital sector and enhancing its competitiveness both regionally and globally.

 

The 2024 edition also witnessed a significant presence from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with numerous exhibitors, falconers, and hunting enthusiasts from across the region.

This strong participation underscores the deep cultural and historical ties that bind these nations, as well as their shared dedication to preserving the traditional sports of their ancestors and promoting sustainable hunting practices.

 

The exhibition saw record participation from leading local and international companies specialising in various sectors. The number of exhibitors surged by more than 58.5% compared to 2023, with 1,742 companies and brands represented.

Additionally, the exhibition’s total space increased by 34%, covering over 87,000 square metres, compared to 65,000 square metres in the previous edition.

Notably, national companies played a significant role, with 435 UAE-based companies accounting for 68% of the exhibitors, showcasing the remarkable growth of the country’s industries in these vital sectors and the exhibition’s impact in boosting their global competitiveness.

 

The remarkable growth in all key performance indicators for this year’s edition reflects the dedicated efforts of ADNEC’s teams, in collaboration with the Emirates Falconers’ Club, to ensure the success of the event and to present it in a manner that reflects Abu Dhabi’s reputation and standing on both regional and international levels.

This year’s edition featured several exclusive exhibits and activities that drew significant interest from international exhibitors and visitors, including the participation of the Zayed National Museum, which showcased a special collection related to falconry, hunting, and traditional sports as well as some activities introduced for the first time.

 

 

UAE President Visits Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2024

 

On September 5, 2024, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, visited the 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). During his tour, Sheikh Mohamed explored the national pavilions and international companies participating in the exhibition, showcasing the latest innovations and equipment in the fields of hunting and equestrian sports.

 

His Highness engaged with exhibitors, discussing the latest developments in the industry and listening to presentations about their most innovative products on display.

Moreover, he emphasized the importance of ADIHEX in preserving Emirati heritage and its role as a global platform for promoting cultural exchange. Sheikh Mohamed also highlighted the UAE’s dedication to connecting younger generations with their rich cultural history and heritage.

 

Successful Conclusion

Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and organised by ADNEC in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club, this year’s event marked the largest edition since its inception in 2003 and reinforced its position as a globally leading event for celebrating heritage, culture, and outdoor adventures.

 

The 2024 edition welcomed a record-breaking 347,481 visitors from around the world, reflecting a 205% increase compared to the previous year.

Moreover, the exhibition featured more than 1,742 exhibitors and brands from over 65 countries.

Over its 9 days, ADIHEX 2024 featured various activities catering to all age groups, including educational workshops on wildlife conservation and sustainable hunting practices, as well as interactive experiences, such as falconry sessions led by Al Ain Zoo.

Additionally, the event provided a unique platform for companies to showcase the latest innovations and products in hunting, equestrian sports, and outdoor adventures.

ADNEC is committed to further elevating ADIHEX in future editions, with plans to expand its programme, increase international participation, and promote cultural and heritage diversity within the UAE and the wider region.
