Led by Major General Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries, a delegation from the Ministry of Defence and representatives from national defence companies participated in the Vietnam Defence Expo 2024. The event was held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, from December 19 to 22, 2024.
On the sidelines of the visit, Al Jabri met with Senior Lieutenant General Tong Sy Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Senior Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, Head of Vietnam’s General Department of Defence Industries.
The meetings, attended by officials from both sides, focused on exploring avenues of cooperation across various fields, particularly in defence and military domains. Discussions also emphasised fostering and establishing strategic partnerships between national defence companies and major Vietnamese defence firms.
Moreover, the delegation toured several pavilions showcasing global companies’ latest defence systems and equipment.
At the conclusion of the visit, the head of the delegation extended an invitation to Vietnamese companies to participate in the upcoming International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference (NAVDEX) 2025, scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21, 2025.
