H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, has inaugurated the UAE Corvette P111 in a special ceremony held on February 7, 2025.
The event was attended by H.E. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Fadel Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H.E. Lt. General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence.
Designed per the latest global military technology standards, the P111 underscores the UAE’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its naval defence capabilities. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the launch of the vessel reflects the UAE Navy’s dedication to strengthening its operational readiness, securing national waters, and safeguarding strategic interests.
This milestone represents a significant addition to the navy’s ability to protect the country’s coastline and maritime domains.
Moreover, Sheikh Hamdan commended the national efforts involved in the development of this advanced corvette, stressing that continuous investment in cutting-edge military technology reinforces the UAE’s position as a leader in defence innovation.
He noted that such advancements ensure the armed forces remain fully prepared to undertake all assigned missions efficiently and effectively under all circumstances.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Hamdan called for sustained innovation and the continuous development of national expertise to ensure the armed forces remain prepared for future challenges.
Notably, the P111 is equipped with pioneering panoramic sensor systems and an advanced security intelligence unit (PSIM) designed for data collection and processing.
The vessel features next-generation radar systems, electro-optical sensors, electronic warfare suites, communication antennas, and a dedicated shipborne weather system, making it a model of operational efficiency and combat readiness.
