Milkor Showcases Groundbreaking Innovations Across Domains at IDEX 2025

Over the past decade, Milkor has achieved remarkable expansion across the AIR, LAND, SEA, and CYBER domains, solidifying its reputation as a global leader in defence innovation. By leveraging experienced engineers, rapid prototyping, and rigorous testing, the company has transformed its capabilities into comprehensive, market-proven solutions. These developments will take centre stage at the upcoming International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, a pivotal event for showcasing innovative technologies to the global defence community.

Milkor’s ability to innovate across multiple domains has propelled its international presence. The establishment of four global offices highlights its commitment to supporting clients worldwide, enhancing its competitive standing in the defence sector. This global reach positions Milkor as a key provider of interoperable solutions, tailored to meet the complex demands of modern defence operations.

“Our global offices not only allow us to present our capabilities but also ensure localized support for our clients,” Julian Coetzee, CEO Milkor UAE said. “This positions Milkor as a trusted partner capable of developing strategic partnerships and delivering seamless solutions across various operational environments.”

Milkor has consistently demonstrated its commitment to pushing the boundaries of defence technology. In the air domain, the company has set new benchmarks with its Milkor 380 UAV, a Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle. Boasting an 18.6-meter wingspan and a maximum take-off weight of 1,500 kg, the Milkor 380 is designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat missions. With an impressive endurance of up to 30 hours and support for advanced payloads such as precision-guided munitions, the UAV exemplifies Milkor’s growing influence in UAV technology.

In the land domain, the Vanguard, a 19.5-ton Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, represents a new standard in armoured vehicles. Launched at the African Aerospace and Defence (AAD) Exhibition in 2024, the Vanguard is engineered to withstand high-threat scenarios. Meeting NATO STANAG Level 4 Blast standards, it can endure a 10 kg anti-tank mine explosion under any wheel or track, providing unmatched troop safety in hostile environments.

On the seas, Milkor has introduced the Commander, a 16-meter naval platform designed for patrol, search and rescue, and maritime security operations. Combining speed, endurance and adaptability, the vessel caters to navies, coast guards, and law enforcement agencies. Its versatility underscores Milkor’s ability to address the multifaceted challenges of maritime security.

As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for platforms and communication systems, Milkor prioritizes interoperability as a core design principle. The company’s solutions are engineered to function seamlessly across diverse environmental and operational conditions. Real-time information sharing and efficient communication capabilities are central to enabling successful missions.

“Our systems are strategically developed with the respective entities involved, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations,” Coetzee stated. “This adaptability ensures Milkor’s offerings remain relevant in evolving operational contexts and can perform the operation it was intended to do effectively and efficiently.”

Since IDEX 2023, Milkor has secured significant contracts, reflecting its growing global footprint and reputation as a trusted defence partner. The company’s focus on innovation, adaptability, and operational excellence continues to resonate with clients worldwide.

Milkor’s presence at IDEX 2025 is not just a milestone for the company but also a testament to the country’s growing influence in the global defence sector. By presenting innovative, locally developed solutions on an international stage, Milkor highlights the capability and potential of the region’s defence industry as a whole.
