Britain has announced the beginning of a new phase in the development of a new generation of missile submarines for its navy.
The British Ministry of Defense has signed contracts worth two billion dollars with BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce to launch the third phase of development of the Dreadnought strategic nuclear submarine.
Reports had previously indicated that the Dreadnought submarine is 153.6 meters long, with a water displacement rate of 17,200 tons.
Each Dreadnought submarine will be armed with 12 Trident-2 ballistic missiles, and these missiles will be capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
These submarines will also be equipped with systems to launch 533 mm torpedoes.
