China has developed a new Type-054B warship for its military.
This new ship is a completely new frigate compared to the Chinese Type-054A frigates. It has an approximately 50% larger displacement and is equipped with more advanced weaponry.
The front of the new ship features a vertical launch platform containing 32 launch cells. These cells are likely to be used for launching medium-range HQ-16 anti-aircraft missiles or Yu-8 anti-ship and anti-submarine missiles.
This new ship comes equipped with 30mm machine guns and HQ-10 missile systems.
Moreover, it is expected to feature 100mm guns similar to those used on Type-051C, Type-052B, and Type-052C destroyers.
