The Chinese J-15 fighter jet has been upgraded with a new AESA radar and improved landing equipment.
The new J-15 utilizes a more advanced active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar system and associated avionics.
The upgraded fighter has been seen flying alongside a next-generation stealth fighter aircraft, reportedly named J-35.
China is also working on developing twin-winged early warning aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and additional aircraft carriers.
The J-15 will complement the J-31 aircraft, which has been designed to operate on aircraft carriers equipped with an electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS).
