EDGE Group, a global leader in advanced technology and defence, and Indra Sistemas (Indra), a renowned multinational in information technology and defence systems operating in over 140 countries, have announced the establishment of a new joint venture named “PLUS” in Abu Dhabi.
The initiative aims to bolster local capabilities in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge radar systems, supported by a robust pipeline of orders from existing and potential customers across high-potential markets worldwide.
The partnership, which began in 2023, is set to deepen and strengthen through this agreement. “PLUS” will serve as a strategic platform to drive innovation and enhance radar technology offerings, positioning the joint venture as a major player in the global defence sector.
The agreement was formalised in Madrid, with EDGE Group’s Managing Director and CEO, Hamad Al Marar, and Indra’s CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, signing the joint venture agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Margarita Robles Fernández, Spain’s Minister of Defence; María Amparo Valcarce García, Spain’s Secretary of State for Defence; Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE Group; and Marc Murtra, Chairman of Indra. Senior officials from the Spanish Ministry of Defence and other dignitaries were also present.
This milestone collaboration highlights the commitment of both companies to advance technological capabilities and create a strong foundation for innovative radar systems, catering to a growing demand in global defence markets.
