The Arab Republic of Egypt is looking to reinforce its naval forces through a new submarine deal.
There is an offer from the French company Naval Group to Egypt that includes one of the two submarines – as desired by the Egyptian Navy – one of which is the traditional Scorpion submarine, and the other is the SMX-31 submarine that is powered by electric power.
German submarines were among the topics that were discussed with the Egyptian side, during the German Foreign Minister’s recent visit to Egypt.
