France has officially announced the development of an unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) designed to complement the Rafale F5 standard.
Expected to enter service after 2030, the project aims to enhance the technological and operational superiority of French military aviation, further boosting the capabilities of the Rafale fighter jet.
The drone is equipped with advanced stealth technology and an internal weapons bay, designed to adapt to evolving threats and meet the operational requirements of the French Air and Space Force.
Named the nEUROn, the UCAV weighs seven tonnes, with a wingspan of 12.5 metres and a length of 9.2 metres. It is powered by an engine capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 0.8 at an altitude of 14,000 metres.
