Germany Develops Leopard 2 X

Despite the advancement of the joint Franco-German MGCS (Main Ground Combat System) program aimed at developing a new battle tank, Germany continues to invest in the development of the Leopard 2 tank.

The latest version, the Leopard 2 X, serves as a “bridge” between the Leopard 2A8 and the MGCS, providing a potential alternative should the MGCS program face any setbacks.

The Leopard 2 X is equipped with a 130mm main gun and integrates new technologies derived from lessons learned in modern warfare, such as improved armour, enhanced situational awareness, and increased firepower.

Moreover, enhancements have been made to the tank’s hull protection and turret roof, ensuring that the Leopard 2 X remains a formidable force on the battlefield for years to come.
