Negotiations on launching the production of automatic rifles between the Indian and Russian sides are nearing completion.
The agreement authorises India to produce 671,427 AK-203 automatic rifles. This number could increase after the local production process is organized. India could also export quantities of Russian rifles assembled in India.
The price of one automatic rifle assembled in India will reach 958 dollars. In comparison, the price of one American automatic rifle of those that India is currently buying in the United States amounts to 1218 dollars.
It is reported that the AK-203 is an upgraded version of the Kalashnikov – 100 machine gun.
