American defence contractor, Northrop Grumman has announced the development of the Cannon-Based Air Defence (CBAD) system.
This new air defence system is designed to address the growing threat of large-scale air raids involving cruise missiles and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
According to Northrop Grumman, the CBAD system utilises Bushmaster chain guns equipped with advanced ammunition to cost-effectively counter the increasing threat of massive air raids, which have become more significant as adversaries enhance the quantity, variety, and capability of their aerial weapons.
Moreover, this system represents a major advancement in air defence technology. As Northrop Grumman continues to develop and refine this system, it aims to provide military forces with a reliable and flexible defence mechanism capable of countering diverse and numerous aerial threats.
