The Russian military has begun testing the new Pantsir-SM-SV missile systems to counter aerial threats during its ongoing special military operation.
The new system has been mounted on an armoured tracked vehicle built on the GM-352M1E chassis, designed for intercepting aerial attacks in close combat zones.
In addition to the rugged tracked vehicle capable of traversing difficult terrain, the system features a new radar that can detect targets with dimensions of 100 cm x 100 cm at a distance of up to 60 km. This radar is also capable of detecting targets such as HIMARS munitions at ranges between 27 and 30 km.
Moreover, the Pantsir-SM-SV missile systems are equipped to engage a variety of aerial targets, including military aircraft, helicopters, and drones with very small radar signatures.
