A new missile frigate will join the naval forces of the Russian army.
The frigate “Golovko” has completed its testing program, which verified the operation of all the ship’s systems and onboard weaponry.
Russia currently has two missile frigates in service. The frigates produced by Russia under this project measure about 135 meters long, and 16 meters wide, with a water displacement of 5,400 tonnes.
The frigates can sail at 19 knots for distances up to 4,500 nautical miles, carrying a crew of 170.
Moreover, they are armed with long-range Kalibr cruise missile systems and 130 mm guns. They also have anti-ship missile systems and carry Ka-27PL helicopters.
