Russian Laser Technology Obscures Satellite Vision

A specialist at Russia’s “Peter the Great” Military Academy has unveiled a laser system designed to obscure satellite vision of strategic movements and locations of Russian forces through the emission of powerful laser beams.

The expert explained, “The Peresvet laser system is intended to protect strategic sites and intercontinental ballistic missile forces, shielding them from the view of potential enemy satellites.”

He further clarified that Peresvet is capable of targeting space objects at altitudes ranging from 200 to 1,100 kilometres, with a coverage range of 360 degrees horizontally and 21 to 155 degrees vertically, thereby safeguarding an area with a 180-kilometre radius.
