The U.S. Army Upgrades Abrams Tanks

The U.S. Army is currently in the process of upgrading Abrams tanks and has announced a new upgrade program called M1E3, which focuses on anti-tank capabilities.

The M1E3 upgrade program has been designed to provide solutions to the challenges that American main battle tanks, M1 Abrams, will face after 2040 and all necessary resources will be allocated to this new project.

The U.S. Army has taken into account the experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently fighting Russia.

More specifically, the U.S. Army highlighted the need for an active protection system that reduces the weight of the combat vehicle, enhances survivability, and reduces logistical costs.
