Turkish President Unveils New Fifth-Generation Fighter Aircraft

The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has unveiled a new fifth-generation fighter aircraft named “Kann”, stating that the domestically-made high-performance fighter jet will undergo testing for several years and then join the arsenal of the Turkish Air Force.

Erdogan added, “Turkey will be one of five countries in the world producing this type of fifth-generation fighter aircraft.”

Furthermore, Erdogan mentioned that Turkey has reached significant stages in projects such as the first supersonic manned aircraft “Hurjet,” the heavy attack helicopter “ATAK-2,” and the unmanned combat aerial vehicle “Anka-3”.

The Kann fighter jet is capable of performing air-to-air combat missions with fifth-generation weapons and conducting precise strikes from internal weapon bays at supersonic speeds.
