Lockheed Martin has unveiled new details about the hypersonic Mako missile, an air-launched weapon poised to become the world’s first hypersonic missile deployable from an internal weapons bay.
This capability is not limited to the F-35 fighters but extends to the F-22 Raptor as well.
Officials at Lockheed Martin have described this new missile, which has already been tested for external carriage on nearly any aircraft in the US arsenal, as a “multi-mission” weapon system.
Moreover, this missile is capable of conducting anti-ship strikes, air defence suppression, and various surface attack operations.
