The first of October marks a momentous occasion for Al Jundi Journal, commemorating 51 years since its first issue. On this day in 1973, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree establishing a monthly publication to provide comprehensive coverage of the UAE Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces’ activities. Thus, Al Jundi was born.
From the start, Al Jundi defined its mission clearly: to deliver insightful military, scientific, cultural, and medical information to a broad readership. Over the decades, Al Jundi upheld these goals, maintaining rigorous standards of accuracy and adhering to respected research methodologies.
As Al Jundi enters its fifth decade, it remains firmly committed to supporting the visionary leadership of the UAE and contributing to the nation’s long-term goals.
The journal plays a vital role in documenting and preserving the developmental, humanitarian, and cultural achievements initiated by the founding fathers of the UAE—chief among them the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose enduring legacy has elevated the UAE to its prominent position on the global stage, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
