The German company FFG is a company that specializes in the repair of main battle tanks and armored vehicles for the German army. In 1995, this company came up with a concept for the modernization of the M113 armored personnel carrier.
Ultimately, the FFG has repaired over 1,600 armored vehicles on numerous international projects. In 2009, the company began developing a well-protected domestic armored personnel carrier, called the G5. It was revealed in 2012, after which the new G5 appeared as the best tracked vehicle in Danish APC trials.
In 2018, FFG was awarded a contract to develop an armored personnel carrier and armored transport vehicle for the Norwegian Army, to replace the M113 and M577.
