Today, as the UAE celebrates its 53rd Union Day, the nation stands as a global symbol of excellence, innovation, and progress—a status achieved through the dedication of both its leaders and citizens. The foundation of the UAE, laid by a visionary leader who deeply loved his homeland and people, has resulted in a legacy that continues to bear fruit. Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the nation has advanced in his father’s footsteps, transforming into a “Pearl of the World” and a haven of peace and security.
The 2nd of December 1971 was a defining moment, not just in UAE history but in the broader world. The establishment of the United Arab Emirates marked the beginning of a nation that would go on to make exceptional contributions in economic, political, humanitarian, and ethical arenas. Today, the UAE serves as a global model of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, respect for law, and safety. As we commemorate the UAE’s 53rd anniversary, the nation has achieved unprecedented milestones. Emiratis have soared to new heights, even reaching space, with dreams touching the stars. These achievements fuel the hopes for a prosperous future, under wise and creative leadership that aspires to elevate the UAE among the world’s best across all sectors. This Union remains a powerful force, protecting the country and inspiring its citizens to strive toward their dreams.
In this joyous celebration, we must remember with gratitude the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, whose vision and tireless work made this Union a reality. With his brother, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and the rulers of the Emirates, Sheikh Zayed laid the groundwork for a strong, modern nation. Union was always in Sheikh Zayed’s heart, as he famously said, “Union lives within me, within my heart, and is the most precious thing in my existence. I cannot imagine ever letting it slip or neglecting its future.” We pledge to you, our Sheikh, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, that we will continue to uphold this Union, protect its accomplishments, and safeguard its resources.
