The National Committee for the Agentic AI Project has organised a workshop on the “Strategic Government Workstream”, bringing together more than 100 government officials to align efforts and accelerate the implementation of one of the key tracks of the national project. The initiative aims to transform 50% of government operations, procedures and services into Agentic AI-powered models within two years.
The Strategic Government Workstream is one of the main tracks of the UAE Government’s Agentic AI Project. It focuses on transforming strategic tasks across federal entities into operational models and systems powered by Agentic AI, supporting the quality of strategic planning and policy development while enhancing the efficiency and speed of government decision-making. It will also enable deeper insights and more accurate foresight into future developments.
Seven Key Areas
The workshop presented seven key areas underpinning the Strategic Government Workstream: strategy and projects; foresight and strategic intelligence; policies; structures and governance; government performance; global competitiveness; and innovation in government.

Participants reviewed the workstream’s implementation plan and stages, mechanisms for identifying and classifying strategic tasks across federal entities, and the timeline for the transformation. They also discussed priority tasks to be developed through Agentic AI models, ensuring alignment of government efforts and strengthening integration among federal entities.
Guiding Principles
Participants also discussed the guiding principles for an Agentic AI-enabled government transformation, foremost among them the principle that “humans lead and Agentic AI enables”. Other principles include strengthening the exchange of knowledge and expertise, aligning government efforts, avoiding duplication and focusing on achieving a shared national impact.
Her Excellency Huda Al Hashemi, Assistant Minister for Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs and Head of the Strategic Government Workstream, affirmed that the Agentic AI Project reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of consolidating the UAE Government’s leadership in government transformation.
She explained that the Strategic Government Workstream workshop represents the implementation launch for developing AI-powered government models in cooperation with federal entities. The initiative will contribute to achieving the objectives of the national government transformation project, strengthen foresight and decision-making capabilities, and establish a more future-ready and globally competitive government model.
The workshop also reviewed the workstream’s implementation plan, its various stages, mechanisms for identifying and classifying strategic tasks across federal entities, and the transformation timeline. Participants further discussed priority tasks to be developed through Agentic AI models, with the aim of aligning government efforts and strengthening integration among federal entities.
The workshop emphasised that the workstream’s outcomes will contribute to building a more integrated and intelligent strategic government ecosystem based on interconnected tasks and outcomes, real-time analysis, and continuously evolving Agentic AI capabilities. This will enhance the accuracy and proactiveness of government decisions, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the UAE Government’s readiness to meet future requirements.
The workshop further examined the guiding principles underpinning the Agentic AI-enabled government transformation, particularly the principle that humans lead while Agentic AI enables. It also highlighted knowledge-sharing, the exchange of expertise and best practices, greater alignment of government efforts and the avoidance of duplication, with a focus on achieving a shared national and government impact. The seven areas of the Strategic Government Workstream and their role in redesigning the government work ecosystem were also examined.
The Agentic AI Project represents one of the key pillars of the UAE Government 4.0 journey, which aims to bring about a qualitative transformation in the government operating model through the deployment of Agentic AI technologies across government operations, services and sectors.
The new UAE Government ecosystem aims to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations into Agentic AI-powered operating models within two years. Described as a first-of-its-kind initiative globally, the transformation is expected to enhance government performance, improve the quality and effectiveness of services, increase their impact on customers and reinforce the UAE’s leadership in designing the governments of the future.
