Baykar Unveils K2 Loitering Munition Capable of Striking Targets up to 2,000 km Away

Turkish defence company Baykar has unveiled a new loitering munition unmanned aerial system, designated K2, capable of conducting long-range strikes at distances of up to 2,000 kilometres.

The K2 is designed to carry an explosive payload of up to 200 kg, enabling it to engage high-value and strategic targets deep within adversary territory. With an endurance exceeding 13 hours, the platform is optimised for extended missions and deep-strike operations.

A key feature of the system is its ability to operate in coordinated swarms, leveraging artificial intelligence for autonomous navigation, target identification, and mission execution. The drone is also equipped with visual targeting capabilities and can function effectively in GPS-denied or electronically contested environments.

Developed to meet the demands of modern warfare, the K2 enhances Turkey’s capacity for precision long-range engagements while reducing reliance on manned platforms. Its integration into the country’s growing unmanned systems portfolio represents a significant advancement in autonomous strike capabilities and further strengthens its position in the global defence market.
