EDGE Group, a leading global defence and advanced technology company, has announced the signing of a partnership with the Brazilian Army to develop a framework for testing and evaluating next-generation weapons by specialised units.
The agreement includes the execution of field assessments in realistic, high-challenge operational environments for the CAR 816 assault rifle, chambered for 5.56×45mm NATO and developed by Caracal, as well as the CSR50 sniper rifle, chambered for 12.7×99mm NATO. These trials will be conducted by specialised units to measure performance under precise conditions that simulate complex real-world scenarios.
The partnership reflects both sides’ commitment to strengthening knowledge exchange and enhancing joint capabilities through technical, operational, and logistical cooperation. It also aims to develop solutions that support the integration of these systems into the Brazilian Army, while advancing training programmes, developing personnel skills, and improving the readiness of special forces in the use of assault rifles and precision weapons.
The outcomes of this collaboration are expected to contribute to improved combat performance and enhanced operational readiness of Brazil’s ground forces.
This agreement represents a continuation of the growing cooperation between EDGE Group and the Brazilian Army, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting innovation and advancing strategic defence capabilities in Brazil.
