Strawberries Reduce Risk of Dementia

A recent study conducted by the University of Cincinnati in the United States found that regularly consuming strawberries helps lower the risk of developing dementia, as well as enhancing cognitive and perceptual abilities.

The study explained that these positive effects might be due to strawberries containing high levels of anti-inflammatory compounds such as anthocyanins.

Dementia develops over decades and is closely tied to metabolic disorders like obesity and diabetes.

The study also demonstrated beneficial effects against memory disorders and lowered chances of developing psychological illnesses like depression.

In addition to being rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, strawberries contain high fibre and potassium levels, which support heart health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks by inhibiting the formation of harmful cholesterol.

Strawberries can also help lower blood pressure because of their high levels of potassium and magnesium and low sodium levels. Potassium and magnesium act as vasodilators, thus helping lower blood pressure and facilitate blood flow to different parts of the body.
