Boeing has introduced the new prototype of the F-15QA Advanced Eagle fighter jet, making a spectacular debut with a display of 12 air-to-air missiles.
The public unveiling featured two F-15Q aircraft: one without a payload and the other equipped with 12 AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. The F-15 can nearly double this missile count using newly designed outer wing hardpoints and launch racks known as AMBER.
Once these new racks are available, the latest generation of F-15 jets (F-15SA, F-15QA, and F-15EX) will be capable of carrying 22 air-to-air missiles in an air-to-air configuration, effectively serving as a “missile truck” with a significant load of long-range air-to-air missiles.
