EDGE Concludes Successful Debut Participation at FIDAE 2026 in Chile

EDGE Group, one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence companies, has successfully concluded its debut participation at the International Air and Space, Defence and Security Exhibition FIDAE 2026, held in April 2026 in Santiago. The participation marks a strategic step in expanding the Group’s presence across Latin America, coinciding with the exhibition’s official opening, which drew high-level attendance and strong recognition of the UAE’s distinguished contribution.

The exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. José Antonio Kast, President of the Republic of Chile, who toured EDGE’s pavilion and praised the advanced technologies and innovative solutions showcased in the defence and security domains. He highlighted the importance of such international engagements in strengthening cooperation and facilitating technology transfer.

UAE Vision to Strengthen Global Partnerships

H.E. Mohammed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Chile, emphasised that the UAE’s participation in this prominent international event reflects its ambitious vision to build high-value global partnerships in advanced technology and innovation, reinforcing international security and stability frameworks.

He noted that EDGE’s first appearance at a major South American exhibition underscores growing confidence in the UAE’s advanced defence industrial capabilities and reflects a forward-looking strategy focused on delivering integrated solutions capable of anticipating and addressing future challenges with high efficiency. This, he added, further strengthens the UAE’s position as a global leader in advanced industries.

Al Neyadi also highlighted the steady growth in UAE–Chile relations, driven by a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation across economic, technological, and investment sectors. He described Chile as a key strategic partner for the UAE in Latin America, supported by its open economy and innovation-friendly environment.

He reaffirmed the UAE’s belief in the importance of fostering international collaboration, noting that knowledge-based partnerships and technology transfer remain essential pillars for addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable development and shared prosperity.

Integrated Multi-Domain Defence Solutions

During the exhibition, held from 7 to 12 April, EDGE unveiled a comprehensive portfolio of advanced solutions spanning air, land, and cyber domains, reflecting its integrated, multi-domain approach to modern defence capability development.

Omar Al Zaabi, President of Trading and Mission Support at EDGE, stated that the Group’s inaugural participation highlights its growing footprint in the Latin American defence technology market. He noted that, building on its established regional partnerships, EDGE continues to position itself as a provider of transformative solutions that contribute to local economic growth and technological advancement.

He added that Chile’s unique geographical expanse and diverse terrain create increasing demand for integrated surveillance and security solutions, prompting EDGE to present a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies tailored to support national and civil security objectives.

Advanced Aerial Systems and ISR Capabilities

In the air domain, EDGE showcased a range of unmanned aerial systems designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, alongside loitering munitions and precision-guided systems. Among the highlights were the HT-100 unmanned helicopter and the REACH-S medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) system.

High-Performance Armoured Land Platforms

In the land domain, the Group presented the AJBAN MK2 and HAFEET MK2 armoured vehicles, engineered to enhance mobility, provide high levels of protection, and ensure operational efficiency across diverse environments and terrains.

Secure Communications and Cybersecurity Solutions

EDGE also exhibited a range of cybersecurity and secure communications solutions designed to ensure operational continuity and protect critical networks against evolving digital threats. These included ultra-secure communication systems developed by KATIM, tailored for highly sensitive and mission-critical applications.

Electronic Warfare and Non-Lethal Technologies

In the electronic warfare domain, the Group presented advanced solutions to safeguard operations in complex electromagnetic environments. These included the autonomous BORDERSHIELD border surveillance system, as well as GPS PROTECT 2 and GPS PROTECT 4 anti-jamming systems. EDGE also showcased non-lethal technologies designed to support public safety and civil security operations.

Expanding Partnerships Across Latin America

EDGE’s participation at FIDAE 2026 reflects the continued expansion of its partnerships with security entities across the region. In March 2026, the Group signed a Letter of Intent with the Ministry of National Defence of Ecuador to implement an integrated security programme aimed at enhancing surveillance systems and strengthening border protection capabilities.

Through its debut at FIDAE, EDGE has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration in Latin America, advancing technological exchange, and supporting the development of integrated defence and security ecosystems across the region.
