The ninth edition of the National Service Career Fair concluded on 17 July 2026 after three days at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. Held under the patronage of the National and Reserve Service Authority, the event brought together more than 55 government, semi-government and private sector organisations, alongside nine higher education institutions. The fair offered more than 20,000 employment opportunities and over 12,000 educational opportunities for National Service recruits and graduates.
The fair was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, who toured the fair alongside Major General Staff Issa Rashid Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, and a number of senior military officers and officials. During the visit, they reviewed the employment opportunities, initiatives and development programmes presented by participating organisations to prepare National Service recruits and graduates for successful careers while supporting the UAE’s sustainable development goals and strengthening national competitiveness.
Investing in National Talent
Speaking on the occasion, Major General Staff Issa Rashid Al Mazrouei said the fair reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of investing in Emirati talent as the nation’s most valuable asset and the driving force behind comprehensive development. He noted that the fair forms part of the National and Reserve Service Authority’s ongoing efforts to empower recruits and equip them with the skills required to pursue rewarding career paths while capitalising on the discipline, commitment and sense of responsibility acquired during National Service.
He added that the impact of National Service extends far beyond the period of military duty, playing a vital role in shaping citizens’ character and strengthening their contribution to the nation. Al Mazrouei reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to creating high-quality opportunities across both the public and private sectors while reinforcing the role of institutions as active partners in building a competitive, knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy in line with the UAE’s future vision.
Director of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Defence Visits the Fair
In a related development, Khalifa Rashid Al Hammadi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Defence, visited the fair accompanied by a number of senior officers and officials.
During his tour, Al Hammadi visited the stands of participating government entities, private companies, universities and academic institutions, where he was briefed on the employment and educational opportunities available to National Service recruits and graduates. He also reviewed programmes and initiatives aimed at developing national talent and facilitating their successful integration into the labour market, enabling them to continue their professional and academic journeys while contributing to national development.
Employment and Educational Opportunities
Throughout the three-day event, participating organisations showcased a wide range of employment opportunities alongside specialised programmes designed to prepare and empower National and Reserve Service recruits to contribute across key sectors supporting sustainable development and the UAE’s economic competitiveness.
The fair featured more than 20,000 job vacancies and over 12,000 educational opportunities, providing recruits and graduates with diverse options to pursue their professional ambitions or continue their higher education.
Serving as an integrated career development platform, the fair enabled participants to explore pathways within both civilian and military institutions or continue their studies at participating universities. It also strengthened the connection between educational outcomes and labour market requirements by offering career guidance, professional development support and direct engagement with employers, reflecting the UAE leadership’s commitment to investing in national talent and recognising human capital as the country’s greatest strategic asset.
Strong Attendance from Recruits and Graduates
The fair attracted significant attendance from National and Reserve Service recruits and graduates, with participating organisations receiving large numbers of visitors seeking employment and educational opportunities.
Many exhibitors conducted preliminary job interviews and provided detailed information on available positions, required specialisations and application procedures. The strong engagement demonstrated the growing awareness among young Emiratis of the importance of early career planning and highlighted their enthusiasm for exploring opportunities that support their future professional and academic aspirations.
A Key Annual Platform for Career Planning
Commenting on the fair, Tariq Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chief Executive Officer of INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation, said the event has become an important annual platform where National Service recruits plan the next stage of their careers, whether by pursuing higher education or entering the labour market.
He noted that participating organisations represented a broad spectrum of government, private and military sectors, including the Ministry of Defence, the UAE Armed Forces, Dubai Police, Abu Dhabi Police and Ras Al Khaimah Police.
Al Madani said the fair’s growing popularity reflects recruits’ increasing awareness of the importance of strategic career planning, as well as employers’ commitment to participating each year to attract highly qualified Emirati talent.
He added that the fair targets more than 20,000 Emirati citizens, offering a comprehensive platform for career networking, employment guidance and professional development while strengthening alignment between educational outcomes and labour market needs.
The fair was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Defence, represented by the National and Reserve Service Authority, and organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation, a member of INDEX Holding.
