As we celebrate Emirati Women’s Day, we are not marking a passing occasion on the national calendar, but recognising a remarkable national journey of contribution and achievement — one shaped by a leadership that believed in the capabilities of Emirati women from the very beginning and provided them with every opportunity to succeed. Today, Emirati women have become genuine partners in shaping the UAE’s present and building its future.
On this occasion, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Emirati women, led by the “Mother of the Emirates”, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, may God protect her. Her vision, support, and longstanding efforts have played a profound role in establishing the UAE as a pioneering model for women’s empowerment, strengthening their role and status, and opening broad horizons for them to contribute their skills and ambitions across diverse fields.
Against this backdrop, this year’s Emirati Women’s Day theme, “Together, We Rise Stronger and Better,” is more than a celebratory slogan. It captures a reality we witness every day: Emirati women emerge stronger through knowledge and determination, better through their contributions and achievements, and increasingly influential as they are entrusted with greater responsibilities and opportunities.
At Dubai Civil Defence, we take great pride in the distinguished presence of Emirati women across a wide range of specialisations and professional roles. Our colleagues and daughters have demonstrated competence, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility, while keeping pace with the rapid development of the security and safety ecosystem.
From their various positions, they have made effective contributions to institutional performance, development and innovation, operational readiness and communications, as well as technical and administrative fields. They have demonstrated that protecting people and the nation is ultimately measured by competence and a commitment to responsibility. The true character of Emirati women shines brightest during times of crisis and challenge, when duty calls.
Our pride on this occasion also extends to remarkable women who may not wear a uniform or stand on the front lines, but whose presence accompanies their sons on every mission, in every life saved, and in every act of courage carried out by our firefighters. They are the mothers of firefighters — women who raised their sons to embrace courage, belonging, and sacrifice; who see them leave each day to perform duties that may place them in the face of fire and danger; and who give them, through prayer, patience, and pride, the strength to continue their humanitarian and national mission.
Behind every firefighter who enters danger to save a life stands a mother who instilled in him from childhood the belief that protecting others is an honour and serving the nation is a responsibility.
The mothers of our fallen heroes hold an even more profound place of honour — one that words can never fully express. These mothers gave the nation the most precious thing they had, transforming their patience and sacrifice into an enduring lesson in patriotism. Their sons, in turn, became names forever engraved in the UAE’s history and collective memory.
To the mother of a fallen hero, the mother of a firefighter, and every Emirati woman who contributes, in her own way, to building this nation and safeguarding its achievements, we say with pride: you are an integral part of the UAE’s strength, partners in its journey, and an essential presence in its present and future.
May every year see Emirati women grow stronger and better — always a source of support for their nation, partners in its advancement, and a symbol of giving and belonging.
