Turkey successfully tests new short-range ballistic missile

Roketsan, the leading weapons manufacturer in Turkey, has successfully tested the launch of a short-range ballistic missile.

The experimental launch of the “Typhoon” missile represents an important milestone in Turkey’s ability to develop domestic ballistic missiles.

This successful test demonstrates Turkey’s growing expertise in missile technology. This is the second experimental launch, with the first test conducted in October 2022, reaching a targeted distance of 560 kilometres.

The “Typhoon” missile system was mounted on the Belarusian MZKT Volat 8×8 erector (TEL) vehicle.

According to Roketsan, the short-range ballistic missile system “Typhoon” will provide precise and effective firepower against strategic targets on the battlefield.
