Taiwan Succeeds in Testing First Combat Drone

Taiwan successfully conducted a test of its first domestically produced long-endurance reconnaissance unmanned aircraft,

furthering its efforts to increase the production of indigenous drones and missiles.

The Teng Yun 2 aircraft completed a 20-hour flight successfully, proving itself as an advanced reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft with combat capabilities.

The test comes at a time when Taiwan faces unprecedented military pressure from China.

Despite China’s overwhelming military superiority over Taiwan, Taipei is believed to have the ability to resist and slow down any potential Chinese attack, at least until reinforcements from the U.S.-led alliance arrive.
