On 1 October 1973, the first issue of Al Jundi was published, carrying a specialised media and cultural mission and a clear objective: to follow the journey of the UAE Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces, document their achievements and development, and keep readers informed about key defence and security issues and developments.
Today, as Al Jundi marks the 53rd anniversary of its launch, we proudly recall a distinguished journey spanning more than five decades, during which the journal has kept pace with the rapid transformations taking place in the defence and security landscape, while continuously developing its tools and content in line with the UAE’s growing standing across various fields.
Since its establishment, Al Jundi has sought to serve as a platform for military knowledge, a forum for dialogue and analysis, and a source of insight into the latest developments in defence industries, technology, and artificial intelligence. In doing so, it has drawn on the contributions of leading experts, specialists, and writers from the UAE and abroad.
The journal’s presence has extended beyond its pages. Through its continued participation in defence exhibitions, conferences, and events in the UAE and around the world, Al Jundi has built bridges with international institutions and established strong relationships with leading experts, decision-makers, and prominent companies across the defence sector. Through this presence, the journal has strengthened its profile and standing, becoming a respected and closely followed publication at numerous international defence forums.
As we celebrate this journey today, we reaffirm that these achievements would not have been possible without the continued support, valued trust, and sincere efforts of successive generations of Al Jundi staff.
As it enters its 53rd year, Al Jundi renews its commitment to advancing its mission, enhancing its content, and keeping pace with the future, so that it may continue to serve as an established Emirati media platform for military knowledge and defence culture, remaining present wherever knowledge is created and the future of defence and security is shaped.
