Turkish Army Showcases “Cobra 2” Armoured Vehicle in Egypt

Turkey displayed its advanced “Cobra 2” armoured vehicle at the EDEX 2023 defence exhibition in Egypt.

This armoured vehicle is designed to withstand landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). However, its weight has increased to 13,600 kg compared to 6,000 kg for the previous model.

The vehicle’s body is 2.3 m high and 2.5 m wide, with a ground clearance of 40 cm.

Moreover, it can now cross water obstacles of up to 1 m deep.

The vehicle comes equipped with a diesel engine capable of generating 360 horsepower, and an automatic transmission that enables it to reach speeds of 110 km/h on paved roads.

The armoured vehicle can carry 10 people including the driver and vehicle commander and features a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun mounted in an armoured turret on the roof.
