End of Drones?.. US Weapon Changes the Rules of Battle

The United States Army has unveiled the Leonidas AGV, an autonomous vehicle equipped with a high-power microwave weapon designed to counter swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The system works by disabling enemy electronics through electromagnetic pulses, enabling it to neutralise multiple targets simultaneously, unlike laser systems that typically engage one target at a time.

Leonidas AGV was developed through co-operation between Epirus, General Dynamics Land Systems, and Kodiak AI, and is mounted on a medium tactical truck platform featuring autonomous driving capabilities.

The weapon offers low operating costs and eliminates the need for conventional ammunition, making it a promising solution for protecting critical infrastructure and responding efficiently to modern aerial threats.
