Saab AB has unveiled the new HEAT 758 for the Carl-Gustaf M4, enhancing the system’s effectiveness against modern main battle tanks and heavily protected armoured vehicles.
The HEAT 758 round is equipped with a tandem high-explosive anti-tank warhead capable of defeating explosive reactive armour before penetrating the main armour, with a penetration capability of up to 700 mm of rolled homogeneous armour equivalent. The ammunition also integrates with Saab’s Firebolt digital fire-control system, which automatically configures firing data to improve accuracy and reduce engagement time.
Saab confirmed that production has commenced following the first order from an existing Carl-Gustaf user. The new ammunition is expected to strengthen the anti-armour capabilities of infantry units while reinforcing the company’s position in the market for close-combat weapon systems and advanced munitions.
