France Unveils CAPINT Future Main Battle Tank Concept

KNDS has unveiled the CAPINT future main battle tank concept, designed to address the evolving challenges of modern warfare, with a particular focus on countering drone swarms and other emerging battlefield threats.

The vehicle features an unmanned turret, a three-person crew, and an open digital architecture that enables seamless integration with uncrewed platforms and operations within a networked combat environment. It is armed with a 120 mm main gun, with the option to upgrade to a 140 mm weapon, alongside a remotely operated 30 mm cannon dedicated to engaging unmanned aerial systems.

The CAPINT is also equipped with advanced active protection systems, next-generation sensors, and a 360-degree situational awareness suite to enhance survivability and combat effectiveness. The platform is expected to enter service during the next decade, gradually replacing France’s Leclerc fleet.
