China Reveals Sixth-Generation Stealth Fighter for the First Time

China has publicly showcased its next-generation stealth fighter for the first time through footage released by the military media platform China Military Bugle, marking the first official acknowledgement of the programme after months of speculation.

The aircraft, widely believed to be the prototype known as the J-36, was shown in a scene depicting aerial refuelling operations, suggesting that it has been designed for long-range missions. Analysts believe the aircraft features a tailless airframe, advanced stealth technologies, sophisticated sensor systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and network-centric combat functions.

The public debut highlights China’s progress in the global race to develop sixth-generation fighter aircraft and is expected to intensify international competition for future air superiority.
