China has unveiled the YJ-20 anti-ship hypersonic missile, capable of reaching speeds exceeding Mach 5, making it a direct threat to aircraft carriers.
This high speed reduces response times to just minutes and complicates interception, particularly when launched as part of coordinated attacks. Designed to target large naval vessels, the missile forms part of Beijing’s efforts to enhance its maritime influence and counter US superiority.
